Lonely Hearts Club memberThe CHA Lonely Hearts Club is for animals who have been at the shelter for a long time or who have special needs. They may be shy, frightened, or unhappy in the shelter, so they may not run to introduce themselves to visitors. But they do want to go home with you. The volunteers know these animals are special. All they need is a special person to take them home.

CHA is currently seeking responsible loving homes to foster cats and kittens that arrive at our shelter but are not ready for adoption. Often times, these animals are too thin, too scared, or there isn't enough cages available and their only chance is to go to a foster home until the shelter can accommodate them. If you would like more information about becoming a CHA foster home, please email Kim or Maureen and they will get back with you. Our foster volunteers are the reason why CHA can be a low kill facility. Come and join us and be a part of our mission to save animals!

Please take me home. Chloe
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Tiger
DOB: 04/2005
Sex: Female
Claws: Yes (posted; 11/2007)

Chloe is an affectionate girl who loves to be petted and happily enjoys attention while sitting on your lap. She will also explore and play with you. Alas, poor Chloe is rather stressed by her shelter stay and has thinning patches of fur as a result. This condition should improve in a stable home environment with good food and lots of love. Could you be the one to give Chloe the home and attention she needs and longs for?
Please take me home. Laurel
Breed: Maine Coon Mix
Color: Ebony
DOB: 06/2006
Sex: Female
Claws: Yes (posted; 01/2008)

Laurel is a Norwegian Forest cat mix female with very soft fur and is a bit unusual in that she is completely black with no white patches. She likes pets and cheek scratches and enjoys lots of attention. Laurel is a medium level activity cat, not a couch potato but not hyper either. Laurel does not like other cats and will lash out when she sees them. She would like to be the only pet in your life, where she could be spoiled with attention. Do you have room in your life for a beautiful silky queen named Laurel?
Please take me home. Stevie
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Grey
DOB: 10/2007
Sex: Male
Claws: Yes (posted; 02/2008)

Stevie is a young cat, light gray with dark gray stripes and very light gray to cream highlights around his eyes. As a young cat, Stevie likes chasing after cat toys. He doesn’t much care to be picked up, he is shy and reluctant to leave the safety of his condo, but he craves affection and begs for lots of pets. Stevie would like a patient and/or experienced cat parent who could help him overcome his shyness, and he would probably relax in a quiet home environment. Could you be the one to help cute little Stevie come out of his shell and realize his potential?
Please take me home. Roscoe
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Tiger / White
DOB: 04/2007
Sex: Male
Claws: Yes (posted; 04/2008)

Roscoe is a brown and black young boy, his striped markings make up what are called a “tiger” or “mackerel” tabby pattern. Cute little Roscoe is attired in white mittens and a white bib too, and has green eyes. Open Roscoe’s condo door and he starts purring almost immediately, as he looks forward to attention, pets, and his favorite – play with string toys! Roscoe is very energetic, and loves to chase a string toy. He doesn’t seem to tire as he leaps up in the air to try to catch the toy again and again. Roscoe is a cute boy, full of energy and love, and he would love to go home with you for cuddles and play.
Please take me home. SageI'm in forster care.
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Ginger / White
DOB: 04/2005
Sex: Female
Claws: Yes (posted; 04/2008)

Purr-sonality: Sage is a beautiful, petite kitty that has had a tough life. She was found abandoned and terrified of people. She has been at the shelter for too long, so to help her learn that people are friendly, she has been living in a foster home with a dog and 2 cats. Since then, she has become a much happier, friendlier kitty. Sage could either be the only pet in a home or in a home with other laid-back pets that would respect Sage's personal space. She is an independent kitty but always wants to be nearby to keep you company and sometimes sit on your lap. She loves looking out windows all day long, a good neck scratch, and tasty treats. Sage will make a great companion for years to come so she needs to find a loving home where she can live her life happy and content. For more information about Paige or to meet her, please email her foster mom, Kim.

Please take me home. Olivia
Breed: Russian
Color: Blue / Grey
DOB: 06/2006
Sex: Female
Claws: Yes (posted; 04/2008)

Olivia is a small, pretty, charcoal gray Russian Blue mix girl. She has a few white hairs at the base of her throat, but other than that she has a solid charcoal color coat and green eyes. Olivia is a bit shy as is the nature of the Russian Blue breed, but give her a minute and she will purr and rub against you as you pet her; Russian Blues are devoted and loving toward their people. Once she gets to know you, Olivia is a very affectionate girl and she would love to be your special friend.

Please take me home. Zoey
Breed: Russian
Color: Blue / Grey
DOB: 01/2007
Sex: Female
Claws: Yes (posted; 04/2008)

Zoey is a small Russian Blue mix girl like her mother Olivia. Her lovely charcoal gray coat is accented by a white patch or locket at the base of her throat, and she has white toes on her left back paw. Like the Russian Blue breed, Zoey likes to be held and cuddled but she also enjoys exploring her surroundings and engaging in cat play with you. Zoey is a bit more outgoing than Olivia, affectionate and playful, and would make a lovely addition to your family.
Please take me home. Adelle
Breed: Maine Coon Mix
Color: Black / Brown marbled
DOB: 01/2004
Sex: Female
Claws: Yes (posted; 05/2008)

Adelle is a Maine Coon mix female with an interesting coat pattern. It is probably a marbled pattern, but it is hard to see the swirling patterns in the brown and mostly black coat. As is true with Maine Coons, Adelle has amazingly long whiskers which add a good bit of interest to her attractive face. Give her a minute to warm up and Adelle is a very affectionate cat, she loves to be held and will purr away as you stroke her. She seems to prefer human company to play and will follow you around asking for more lap and pets. If you are looking for an affectionate friend who would love to spend her time with you, consider Adelle.
Please take me home. Moon Beam
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Black
DOB: 04/2007
Sex: Female
Claws: Yes (posted; 05/2008)

Moon Beam is a gentle, pure black female with 2/3’s of a tail. She has yellow/green eyes that are very alert. However, while she is being held she is sweet and calm even while peering around at everyone and everything. Her tail has a tiny crook just at the end which makes her more interesting looking than your average cat. Her nature is sweet and she would make a wonderful addition to any home.

Please take me home. Harley and Kate
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Tiger / Black
DOB: 04/2008
Sex: Male & Female
Claws: Yes (posted; 05/2008)

Harley and Kate are one of the first sets of kittens that kicked off the official “kitten season” at CHA! They will be available for adoption around mid-June. Harley is a fluffy, gray and black, male tiger kitten who will likely be medium- to long- haired cat, and Kate is short hair, black, female kitten with tiny spots of white on her chest and belly. They are your classic bundle-of-joy kittens! They are well-socialized to people, other cats and friendly dogs, and enjoy nothing more than to play, play, play, all day, until they pass out in your lap from exhaustion. While we don’t require that they be adopted together, boy, they sure do have a fun time together! We’re sure they would love a home where they are together or that has other animals that are ready to play. If you are interested in meeting Harley and Kate, please contact their foster mom, Stacia.
Please take me home. Jennyanydots
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Tiger
DOB: 04/2008
Sex: Female
Claws: Yes (posted; 06/2008)

Hi my name is Jennyanydots but you can call me Jenny. I got my name because of my cute little spotted belly. I am the baby of my litter and the one who always seems to be getting into trouble : ) I am very independent and like to go exploring on my own. Climbing EVERYTHING is currently my favorite pastime and my foster mom says something about curiosity and the cat and that I have to be kept on a short leash – pleasssssse like I am some dog . . . Oh, Speaking of dogs, I am very social with them and have been practicing climbing them also. I am what you would call fearless. For additional information about adopting me, please contact my foster mom (she is the coolest by the way), Terri. The T.S. Elliot Litter has been raised in a home with small and large dogs and the neighbor children have helped socialize them. They should be ready for their new fur-ever homes in late June.
Please take me home. Lady Griddlebone
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Grey Tortie
DOB: 04/2008
Sex: Female
Claws: Yes (posted; 06/2008)

Hi my name is Lady Griddlebone, but I go by Riddle. I have made it my duty to be the first of my litter to figure out how to do stuff. I was the first to learn to climb the gate, I was the first to learn how to get on a chair, and I was the first to learn how to get on the dining room table. I am curious and fun and love to lead my littermates into new frontiers of excitement. I really like to have a partner in crime uh, fun, so please consider adopting me with along with one of my litter. For additional about adopting me, please contact my foster mom, Terri. The T.S. Elliot Litter has been raised in a home with small and large dogs and the neighbor children have helped socialize them. They should be ready for their new fur-ever homes in late June.
Please take me home. Victoria Grove
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Grey Tortie
DOB: 04/2008
Sex: Female
Claws: Yes (posted; 06/2008)

My Name is Victoria Grove, you may call me Tori or Victoria, although I answer to neither. I look very similar to my sister Riddle but get in a lot less trouble except for chewing electric cords. I heard that they almost changed my name to Electra because of it. Most people can’t tell the two of us apart but I have white on my left paw instead of my right and have a little tiny white tip on my tail. I love to purr and will start as soon as you pick me up. Please consider adopting me with one of my brother or sisters. For more information, contact my foster mom, Terri. The T.S. Elliot Litter has been raised in a home with small and large dogs and the neighbor children have helped socialize them. They should be ready for their new fur-ever homes in late June.
Please take me home. Bustopher Jones
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Grey
DOB: 04/2008
Sex: Male
Claws: Yes (posted; 06/2008)

My name is Bustopher Jones but you may call me Bustopher. I am really the coolest cat you will ever meet and the most handsome (I can’t wait to look at myself in the mirror EVERY morning!). I have a really laid back attitude and meander around looking for stuff to do. I do love to snuggle and get belly rubs but only on my own terms – after all, a kitten must have some dignity. Contact my foster mom for more information, Terri. The T.S. Elliot Litter has been raised in a home with small and large dogs and the neighbor children have helped socialize them. They should be ready for their new fur-ever homes in late June.
Please take me home. Mungojerrie
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Grey / Marble / Tiger
DOB: 04/2008
Sex: Male
Claws: Yes (posted; 06/2008)

My name is Mungojerrie but you may call me “Jerrie” or sweetheart. I am the loverboy of the T.S. Elliot Litter. I am purring all the time and I like to give kisses. Don’t get me wrong, I can be as rough and tough as the rest when needed but I find I really get my own way by sucking up to my foster mom. I have the cutest face and you really won’t be able to resist me. While I love humans, I do love being a part of a group and would enjoy going home with one of my litter mates. For more information, please contact my foster mom, Terri. The T.S. Elliot Litter has been raised in a home with small and large dogs and the neighbor children have helped socialize them. In the CHA Real Rooms ...

The CHA Real Rooms are separate from the adoption ward. They were set up as a place for cats and kittens that are having a difficult time adjusting to living in cages the shelter. True to the name, the Real Rooms are set up like an actual room in a house and allow potential adopters to see how these cats and kittens would act in a home environment.

Please take me home. Dolce
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Tiger
DOB: 01/2007
Sex: Female
Claws: Yes (posted; 02/2008)

Dolce is a brown and black striped tiger cat, somewhat shyer than her sister Gabanna. If you give her a few minutes to warm up, Dolce likes pets and doesn’t mind being held. Dolce would really rather play, she loves to chase string toys and will throw herself up in the air to grab them. If you’d like an active and friendly kitty, consider taking Dolce home with you.
Please take me home. SebastianI was on Time Warner Cable
Breed: Himalayan
Color: Seal Point
DOB: 02/2006
Sex: Male
Claws: Yes (posted; 04/2008)

Sebastian is a Seal Point Traditional Himalayan cat. The Himalayan breed is a cross between Siamese and Persians, so they have the color points and vivid blue eyes of the Siamese and the long hair of the Persians. Sebastian is “traditional” meaning he has a regular face instead of a flat face like a Persian. Himalayans have personality traits of both Siamese and Persians; they tend to be affectionate, gentle and intelligent, and become devoted to their owners, needing lots of affection in return. Its hard to say what Sebastian’s personality is like, he was surrendered by his owner and is very confused and frightened to have lost his familiar home and be in the shelter, a strange and noisy place. Sebastian is a beautiful boy and he needs someone to love him in a quiet home.
