Open Positions At CHA!

While we are not currently hiring for a staffed position, we are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help care for our animals! Please see the volunteer descriptions below and if there is something you are interested in helping with, you can email Taylea@chaanimalshelter.org.

Cat Caretaker:

Care and feeding of CHA cats, as well as interaction with public in the cat rooms if the shift is during adoption hours. Duration of the shift is approximately two hours on weekdays and approximately three hours on weekends. Shift is scheduled every other week.

Dog Caretaker:

Care and feeding of CHA dogs, as well as interaction with public on the adoption floor if the shift is during adoption hours. Duration of the shift is approximately two hours on weekdays and approximately three hours on weekends. Shift is scheduled every other week.

Cat Isolation Caretaker:

Providing care and feeding of CHA isolation cats. Administering medication may be required. Duration of the shift varies proportionate to the number of isolated cats; no longer than two hours. Shift is scheduled every other week. While this position operates within the time frame of a regularly scheduled shift, the Cat Isolation Care Worker cannot intermingle in any other area of the shelter and must leave the shelter immediately when Isolation tasks are completed.

Dog Isolation Caretaker:

Providing care and feeding of CHA isolation dogs. Administering oral medication may be required. Duration of the shift varies proportionate to the number of isolated dogs; no longer than two hours. Shift is scheduled every other week. While this position operates within the time frame of a regularly scheduled shift, once the Dog Isolation Care Worker enters Isolation area, the worker cannot intermingle in any other area of the shelter and must leave the shelter immediately when Isolation tasks are completed.
